"In simple language, I told my son that our president had started a war with a country called Iraq. I said that we were bombing cities and destroying buildings. And I explained that families just like ours now had no money or food because their parents didn't have offices to go to anymore or bosses to pay them. "America did this?" my son asked, incredulous. "Yes, America," I answered. He paused, a long silent pause, then burst out: "But Mommy, I love America! I want to hug America!" -- Nina Burleigh, former White House correspondent posting for Salon
During Bill Clinton's presidency. ... "I'd be happy to give him a blow job just to thank him for keeping abortion legal." Nina Burleigh, former White House correspondent for Time magazine
“She’s not uppity”? Texas is a different world.
It’s hard to figure out why Miss Knee Pads for Bill Clinton wrote this. She’s all over the map.
It rather goes against the meme that Perry is racist because of where and when he grew up in Texas.
This is somehow the tepid brand of conservatism she suggests he left behind:
“Crucially, they recognize that the problems they and the country face right now transcend cultural differences, and cant be solved by the talk and ideas that excite the Tea Party base.”
I gave up halfway through. A mass of conflicting emotions and thoughts.
I believe the author is trying (desperately) to drive home the point that “opposites attract.” So she must portray them as holding opposing views. She wants Perry to be Tea Party “evil.” She fails miserably in her feeble attempt. Rick and Anita can not be molded by this anti-American living in Paris, into characters that fit her feminist story line.
It's a piece written to drive a wedge between Perry and the base.
Anita and Ricky met and got married in 1982, in the Howards barn, just outside
of town, after a packed service at the Methodist Church, Anita wearing her
mothers wedding dress from the 1950s.
As I scanned this article half-asleep, the only words to wake me up were: As Rick Perry flames out...
A kneepad Dummie that can’t understand Conservatie Values.
And pro-life. OMG.
“Nina Burleigh, a writer living in Paris”
This thing sounds like the middle page of a very bad, sickeningly sweet southern belle novel complete with the dashing confederate colonel who throws in with damn yankees and offends all her sensibilities...but she just can’t bring herself to leave his unworthy self.
>It’s a piece written to drive a wedge between Perry and the base.
This isn’t a wedge, it’s a stake. Poison sweetened and dripping with honey.
Reminds me of my 90 year old mother who, likes to "straighten up the house" before her house keeper gets there. The same arthritic mother who refuses to use those electric shopping carts because she doesn't want people to think that "she is lazy".
Kneepads Nita says Anita is a liberal because she didn’t want women to be abused?????? OMG!!! These people are really LIBTARDS!
Can you believe it?
These liberals are really sick puppies.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
