Heh, heh, “mackerel snapper” was what my grandfather called himself.
You didn’t want to hear what he called the Jehovah’s Witnesses especially when they showed up at his doorstep usually with a small child in tow so he wouldn’t swear at them. Didn’t work. I thought Grandpa was just being grouchy until I read a few issues of “Watchtower” and “Awake”.
When the Jehovah’s Witnesses show up at my door I tell them that I love Jehovah and thank them for coming. Why would any decent person be mean to them?
One of the sister missionaries from my Ward told about when she was in Germany and an evil person dumped a bucket of water on her. These kind of things only serve to strengthen our testimonies and resolve to love our Savior more and serve Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength.
