I don’t know if they still have it, but Turkey used to have the world’s largest mechanized army during the cold war.

I used to win this question at trivia all the time.

Their only problem was that most of it was WWII vintage equipment, but these guys were still able to keep it running and guns are guns back then.

If this is the same army they have, Israel would slaughter them if they attacked.

I think syria had the largest “fleet” of tanks in the world at one time. I think iraq did too, for a period. I thought turkey had the largest infantry at one time...probably surpassed by china or north korea or pakistan
now.

There is nothing magical about military dominance. IMO the Israelis have faired so well against the Arabs not because of technical superiority (which they have not always had), but because Arabs have proven to be poor warriors on the battlefield. And as I said, Turks are not Arabs.
