A Phoenix middle school teacher has been sentenced to 20 years in prison stemming from the sexual assault of her 14-year-old student.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Randall Warner handed down the sentence to 52-year-old Rosanna Brown on Tuesday.
Brown pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of attempted child molestation in the case.
Brown taught seventh- and eighth-grade English at Ed Pastor Elementary School in Phoenix. She had been a teacher for 28 years but had only been teaching at Ed Pastor for a short time.
Police say that Brown lured her teenage student to a Tempe hotel through text messages and had sex with him there in 2009.
When the boy left the hotel room, police say he called his mother and said Brown had assaulted him.

At first I thought, “another day, another student/teacher sex scandal.” But the student in this case is only 14 and he made it clear he wasn’t a willing participant. Pretty appalling even for a pervert teacher thread.

I guess he couldn't have done anything before the fact.
And what happened to the thieves on Wall Street and FNE and FRE that sank the economy, that like Goldman were made whole and then some, like S&P scammed the bond ratings, and those who securitized mortgages without doing the legal requirements of recording deeds? Ah....they walked because they own our government. We have a double standard where connected thieves that plunder trillions walk, and others get 20 years.

20 years in prison isn’t enough, but it’s a good start. I’d like see it become the minimum for all of these pervert teachers who mess with students.
oh my guilty. I look to see if the photos are mug shots. If so, this is the face of someone who did not think they would be caught. Usually a mixture of disbelief and chagrin. Its worse when they give a smile. creepy

That’s not much younger than me. Someone has some real issues if she’s going to be chasing after a 14 year old boy.
teachers shouldn’t mess with students, period. I don’t care if they’re 18 and consent. It should still be 20 years in prison for violating the public trust and the student teacher lines.

I agree. I just don't understand this trend of women teachers having sex with teenage boys. In the past, you only heard about men doing it.
