PETA ad calls shark attack 'payback'
, QMI Agency ^ | October 01, 2011 | Errol Nazareth

A shark-attack victim had to get 800 stitches to close the flesh over his thigh bone last week, and an animal rights organization has released an ad implying the attack was payback.

Charles Wickersham, 21, was spear-fishing off Anna Maria Island in the Gulf of Mexico last weekend when a shark bit his leg. He had surgery Monday and is expected to be released from hospital next week.

PETA's response?

An ad showing a bloodied leg sticking out of a shark's mouth with the words: "Payback Is Hell. Go Vegan."

“We're glad (Wickersham's) going to be OK,” PETA spokeswoman Ashley Byrne told QMI Agency Saturday. “But we hope that after experiencing such pain and fear, he will consider the fact that fish feel the same pain and fear when they're hunted.

"We hope that he'll find a non-violent hobby and that other fishermen will do the same.”

The shocking ad can be seen on PETA's site, and Byrne said the organization is "looking for ad space such as billboard and bus-bench signs, but it hasn't gone up yet."

Asked about the philosophy that drives PETA's risque and controversial ads, Byrne said it's meant "to bring people's attention to the ways in which animals suffer.

“We feel that we do have to something unusual. We believe a provocative ad is a good way to bring people to our site and raise their awareness about how animals are mistreated."

In an article titled, Why Every Week Is Shark Week, that was posted on its site earlier this site PETA wrote:"While sharks aren't particularly cuddly, that's beside the point. All animals feel fear and pain, and what kind of justification can there be for the hideous cruelty involved in pulling sharks from the water, cutting off their fins, and then throwing them back into the sea to spin to the bottom while they slowly bleed to death?

Wickersham's family has opted not to comment on the ad.

Isn’t PETA just all warm and cuddly?!! /s Their response of cruelty is also coupled with “we hope he finds a non violent hobby”. How about spear-fishing PETA members? That could be a fun sport.

MOST PETA women play Squat Tag in aspargus patches, from what I’ve seen of the “Vegan Crowd”.

Yet another in a series of tasteless ads. The NY Rudy Giuliani "Got Cancer?" ad comes to mind.

In Vancouver, BC, a serial killer disposed of the bodies of his dozens of victims by feeding them to pigs on his farm, so they ran a "Got Bacon?" billboard that went over big with relatives of the victims.

“Payback Is Hell. Go Vegan.”

PETA’s hypothesis is easy to test. Just drop some vegans into tropical waters, and see if the sharks avoid them out of professional courtesy.

These morons would have stoned Jesus for eating lamb!!

There are just some people in this society that either need a good beating or need to be ignored. I like the first one.

They are just plain crazy. Do they know animals kill and eat other animals? Are they okay with sharks killing lots of innocent little fishies?

BAD NEWS FOR VEGETARIANS:
PLANTS FEEL PAIN

It has come to our attention at THE UNCOVEROR that something startling has been discovered by Dr. Bill Williams, a botanist at The Helvetica Institute. If his preliminary findings turn out to be true, they will prove that killing plants for food is no less cruel than killing animals for food. “Plants are aware,” says Dr. Williams, “and they feel pain!”

Whne PETA stops killing off perfectly healthy and adoptable dogs and cats (over 99% of them) that they say they supposedly “save”,

then maybe I will take ONE SECOND to listen to what they have to say. Til them they’re just hypocrite, ecoterrorists sponsoring other ecoterrorists like ALF.

I offer a standing vegan dinner invitation to Ashley Byrne or any other PETA member. I’ll serve them a nice vegetarian bowl of castor beans garnished with lovely rhubarb leaves and mistletoe berries.

“Payback Is Hell. Go Vegan.”

All vegan gardens were at one time prime animal habitat, till the farmers cut down the trees, pulled up the stumps, drove off the wild game, plowed the fields killing the burrowing animals, just so the vegans could eat their veggies and get a smug satisfaction by claimning “I’m better than you because I don’t eat meat!”

Yet the fields still run red with the blood of slain amimals which try to eat the veggies.

Remeber many years ago when it was rumored that McDonalds made their burgers from worms?. McDonalds reply was that a pound of worms cost more than a pound of worms.
And cows are bigger than worms.
I think I was an assistant manager back then.
