It would be nice to get solid proof of this. Hispanics, being a current affirmative action class, would be tempted to vote Democrat for that reason. Do they consider illegales enough of a threat to their well being to cross over and vote a Republican who promises to bring order to the border?

Many Hispanics turn into white people (as if by magic, and given enough time).

1994, Pete Wilson solidly beat Kathleen Brown, but behind prop 187, which received huge numbers of crossover votes from Democrats. The anti 187 groups found some support among Republicans, claiming that voting for the restrictions of benefits for illegal invaders would alienate the Hispanic vote, or that it'd lead to huge race riots in the state.

Had all Republicans voted for prop 187, it would have been the largest landslide victory in proposition history for California.

The same Hispanics crossed over to vote for marriage meaning only a union between a man and a woman.

The biggest problem Republicans have in California is that 90% of the time, the primaries go to establishment country club Republicans who sit there wishy washy and trying to be liberal lite, because, of course, California is ‘a liberal state.’

Which is stupid. You're not going to win San Francisco or Berkeley, so why even try? Build contrast with your opponent, state obvious facts and pursue it, including going after the homosexual agenda and illegal alien sympathizers. Promise to evict the clown houses from the state, the criminal illegal alien gangs, and those illegals who are stealing the jobs from Californians.

Instead, we get nominees who think courting the ‘hispanic’ vote is wearing a sombrero on the 5th of May, and making a speech in Spanish. Recipes doomed to failure.
