I posted this over on a more left leaning site, NewsVine.com.
My comment on NewsVine.com about this weekly address:Sometimes it's fun to mix it up with the progressives a little bit.
I'm glad the President is taking it to Republicans. Why, Nancy Pelosi sponsored this bill, and every Democrat in the House has signed on as a co-sponsor. The only thing holding up the "American Jobs Act" is the Republicans in the House opposing it.Ooops, never mind. It looks like no Democrat has yet sponsored this bill. It hasn't even been put in the hopper for the House to consider.Perhaps Democrats, and Obama, should put some pressure on Pelosi and the Democrats in the House to at least start this process. Feel free to contact Nancy Pelosi and ask her to sponsor Obama's American Jobs Act.
Actually, I wish Boehner had called Obama's bluff on September 8. While Obama was there for the joint session, making his pleas to "Pass this bill immediately," Boehner should have stepped up to the microphone at the end of that speech and said, "Mr. President, we'll get right on this. If Nancy Pelosi or one of the other leaders of the Democrats won't sponsor your bill right now, I'll sponsor it myself. And since we have a quorum here, we can even have the first reading of the bill into the record tonight, to get started working on this."
Of course, if he did that, we would have found out that Obama was asking the House to pass a bill before the bill was even written.
They are flailing at this point. (rhymes with failing, ironically)
The only letters he receives everyday are ones from people telling him the idiot he is and to please move aside so the adults take over.
Obama and the Democrats are doing everything that they can to hold back, control, hamper, regulate and take from businesses and those who start, own and run them. They are doing everything possible to destroy the economy. Then they scream JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.
Yeah, I think the White House Blog has caught a bad case of SOS from the teleprompters. That's "Stuck on Stupid" in plain English.

For cryin out loud, enough with the letters already!!!
Getting police and firefighters "back to work" is not a Federal function. Short-term grants do not make these jobs permanent. Police and fire jobs are highly dependent on property tax and sales tax - both local sources.
If the economy is in the crapper, Barry would rather provide temporary feel-good fixes (grants and political pay-ffs to unions), rather than getting out of the way of the small businesses that will allow both local property taxes and local sales taxes to improve, to allow laid-off police and fire personnel to get back to work.
The use of false-premise questions is getting frickin' embarrassing to watch. They try to pose the questions as a series of Hobson's Choice but in reality they are more like "when did you stop beating your wife" in their construct. "Would you rather give tax breaks to millionaires or starve children" has GOT to stop, and true conservatives NEED to push back with logical arguments.
The Laffer Curve has been side-lined....it works.
no Republican response today??
Actually, I posted that first.
