The newly-minted "eager-to-please" Perry is patently offensive......he makes you want to say "yuck."
He forgets that we already know: rank politicians, like Perry, entrusted with enforcing immigration law, deliberately ignored the law and pursued a sub rosa agenda they never bothered to inform the tax-paying public about. Once the public was alerted to pols' deceit, they became involved. It has been a matter of the public learning about deceitful politicians... both Bushes, Ted Kennedy, John McCain, Slick Willie, Obama, Rick Perry and many others......particularly GWB's attempts to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
More egregiously, these same politicians whose negligence exacerbated the illegal problem, then began offering 'solutions'.....amnesty......which also bought vote-crazed pols like Perry, votes and campaign contributions.
The Dream Act, the in-state tuition giveaway, is a show of shameless pandering to ethnic groups. When voters became aware of politicians' pandering, they opposed it by large margins.
As FlingWingFlyer insightfully posted: Illegal immigration is the new third rail of American politics. Politicians better learn that, subito. Americans have had it with freeloading foreigners.
Even if by some quirk of fate, Perry survives conservative ire, he would still have to face the disaffection of the general public, at a later date. Today some 81% of Americans oppose giveaways to illegals......and that cuts across the political spectrum.
There a 2 times as many students in Texas colleges and universities as the number of citizens in the state of Alaska. 1% of them are students brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents, who went to Texas high school for 3 years and graduated. Most of them attend community colleges and NOT the U. of Texas (as Romney was so "clever" to use to distort).
Mitt Romney says illegal immigrants get a $100,000 break on University of Texas tuition over four years ......."Not only is that UT tuition break the very highest that Romney could have cited among Texas public universities, it went to only 4 percent [of 1% of 1,300,000 total enrollment] of the illegal immigrants who received in-state tuition rates last year.
The vast majority of affidavit students in Texas last year got an average in-state tuition reduction of $1,600 to $2,600. If they got that rate for four years, the total "discount" would be $6,400 to $10,400. And that group of 12,028 community college affidavit students made up less than 1 percent of the 1,364,911 college students enrolled in Texas last year."....
You’re just a hater./s/
How dare you point out the truth.
Perry’s illegal chickens are coming home to roost.
...rank politicians, like Perry, entrusted with enforcing immigration law,...
Perry has never proposed amnesty, regardless of how many times you say so.
You and others here on FR and in the GOP debates are wearing out the lie that taxpayers are footing the bill for Texas and other states granting in-state tuition under certain conditions for children of illegals. The students still have to pay the tuition, fees, etc. Most in Texas are attending Jr. Colleges or Community Colleges. I believe the last figure I read was 16,000 such students, which was only about 1% of Texas college students.
Out-of state US citizens even have to be a resident for at least one year to qualify for in-state tuition. The children of illegals have to attend at least three years of public school in TX and graduate from HS to become eligible. Additionally, TX HS graduates normally have to have a GPA in the top 10% of their class to even have a chance to get into a State college/university.
Your diatribes against Perry are really getting stale.
Perry sticks to his guns ?
What ? A water pistol ??

I agree and unfortunately if Perry takes the Presidency he will go for all the programes and the leveridge he has failed to get as Gov....imagine him with the power of the Presidency.....there would have to be a very tight rein on him and I don’t see any in Washington up to that job.
