Didn’t he run, back in 80?

(Just sort of inside baseball here, but...I do know some people “in the know” and they say that Howard Bakers is competent and decent, and hardworking in the extreme. They speak of him in the highest possible terms. They in fact say that he would have been President, but apparently he had a wife who was more or less clinical, and also seriously alcoholic. Very sad, really.....Now all that said: I don’t think anyone said that Baker was a serious conservative. They just insist he is competent....sort of sounds like James Baker. Would that these men were conservative, as competence and hard work is not something that can be scoffed at! Also, if my memory is correct, didn’t Baker sort of bring a little order to a White House that was starting to get a little chaotic at the end of the Reagan presidency? Maybe that is the perfect role for him: head of transition for President Cain!)

When I wrote about Howard Baker, it was a tongue in cheek, sarcastic comment that was in the context of the pubs trying to round up another presiential candidate because they were not satified with the current group. Since they are asking RINO Christie to run(now he said he isn’t) I thought we should go way back and look for even more obscure old RINO’s like Baker, to ask to run. I put a sarc tag at the end of the post but some people didn’t see that. They thought I was serious.
