The Texas governor was heckled Thursday by protestors over his stance on immigration at a campaign stop in Charlotte, North Carolina. To be fair, it wasnt like Rick Perry encountered throngs of angry masses - it was more like a handful of white folks holding up signs saying Rick Perry: Endorsed by Mexico. Still, the protest wound up on the local news (watch the video here), which is not the kind of story the Perry campaign wants to see.
Ironically, the protest - which was organized by the group Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) - probably received more attention than it otherwise would have because the Perry campaign had actually tried to remove a Facebook invitation promoting it.
ALIPAC is now vowing to continue showing up at other Perry events.

That's a bet you'd lose...
95 percent of Texas border security funds flow to the Texas Department of Public Safety and is used for operations and overtime for state and law enforcement officers, surveillance aircraft, and technology to expand intelligence centers.
The remainder goes to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for patrol boats on the Rio Grande and at Lake Falcon.

I agree Leep and I think that person is Herman Cain. I also believe Herman Cain is the last person the Marxist Kenyan wants to face in the 2012 election.
Just like I said, it is the damn budget, and has nothing to do with getting spent on illegals.
NO, that is NOT what you said!. You said " I would bet someone added up the law enforcement budget for border communities and counties".
DPS and Texas Fish & Wildlife are STATE agencies not local.
You are a dishonest person who hasn't got the integrity to admit when they've been proved wrong. People like you make me sick.
I believe a state giving instate tuition to ILLEGAL aliens is similar to a city offering safe haven, i.e, a sanctuary city. They are here ILLEGALLY, Quick. Please tell me why someone who is in this country ILLEGALLY should receive anything that is sponsored and/or subsidized by the American taxpayer and please tell me how you can make that argument w/o sounding exactly like a liberal who makes that same argument. And please remember that states receive federal money that supports their colleges and universities. So an argument that taxpayer dollars aren't being squandered on the ILLEGAL hordes won't fly.Well, South, if you accept that states have sovereign rights to pass laws, as long as they don't violate the Constitution -- the conservative position, I think -- then that means you accept that there will be laws passed on a state-by-state basis that you will strongly disagree with; as you well know, California has passed many laws that are extremely disagreeable to conservatives. If a state's people through their state representatives decide to allow residents of their state (ever how they choose to define state resident within the constraints of the Constitution) to receive state-funded benefits and services, for better or for worse, that is their call.
Do you think its a state's right to decide health care, like Romney Care. If so, why is everybody beating up on Romney for it?Yes, I do. Romney is taking heat because he had wanted to take it national. I think he has since changed his position on that.
I also believe Herman Cain is the last person the Marxist Kenyan wants to face in the 2012 election.I'm starting to believe that Zero may not be on the ticket, we know that Democrats will change horses at the last possible second when faced with certain defeat.
I asked you to please tell me why someone who is in this country ILLEGALLY should receive anything that is sponsored and/or subsidized by the American taxpayer. Your response was to tell me it's the, "Federal Government's responsibility, not the states', to regulate the use of that money." I'm not stupid, I known a diversion when I see one.
You went on to attempt to lay blame for those ILLEGAL invaders getting benefit of taxpayer dollars on the federal government as if RINO Rick Perry had nothing to do with it. We both know that's just not true.
I have always respected you and your responses so I ask again, can you please tell me why someone who is in this country ILLEGALLY should receive anything that is sponsored and/or subsidized by the American taxpayer? Rick Perry thinks they should.
Wow Quick, I am surprised. I know there are many Perry supporters who refuse to admit it is wrong to use taxpayer money to subsidize ILLEGAL invaders but I didn't know you were one of them. You learn something new everyday. ;) I'm not supporting any one candidate, it's way too early for that. I like all the conservative candidates, and yes, I include Rick Perry in that group.
I asked you to please tell me why someone who is in this country ILLEGALLY should receive anything that is sponsored and/or subsidized by the American taxpayer.I answered that. It's up to the people to decide who should or should not receive Federal-funded (Federal taxes) benefits and services, and it's up to the states' people, on a state-by-state basis to decide who should or should not receive state-funded (state tax revenues) benefits and services.
Your response was to tell me it's the, "Federal Government's responsibility, not the states', to regulate the use of that money." I'm not stupid, I known a diversion when I see one. That's a fact, not a diversion. The Feds use regulation to control the states.
You went on to attempt to lay blame for those ILLEGAL invaders getting benefit of taxpayer dollars on the federal government as if RINO Rick Perry had nothing to do with it. We both know that's just not true. That made me smile. The Federal Government is responsible for nearly all handouts, whether the recipients are legal or not. If the Feds had upheld their responsibilities there would be far, far fewer illegals to get benefit of taxpayer money, no? I don't think that Rick Perry had anything to do with allowing 14 million illegals to enter the country. From what I can tell he did all he could to stop as many as Texas's resources permitted.
I have always respected you and your responses so I ask again, can you please tell me why someone who is in this country ILLEGALLY should receive anything that is sponsored and/or subsidized by the American taxpayer? Rick Perry thinks they should.I guess that's why he sent the Federal Government a bill? ;) Seriously, I'm opposed to any government handout regardless of the recipient's citizenship status.
