To: Do Not Make Fun Of His Ears

I understand why some people were offended by the “heartless” remark. They took it to heart. No pun intended. The remark did not offend me in anyway. Let me explain why. If you look at this issue with the eyes of a child who was brought here at the age (for example) of 1 year old. You are now college age, have no memory of anything but America and freedom and then being faced with being uprooted and sent (to you) a foreign country because your parents made a wrong decision many years ago. If you do not feel a pang of sympathy for someone facing that very scarey situation then I would have to agree with Perry.

Now, if you’ve read this far and before you flame me with comments that I am for amnesty, let me say that I do not agree with the bill. The borders should be secured immediately so that the scenario I just gave above does not happen a single time more. And yes I understand the cold hard facts that it may come down to deportation for those remaining in the borders after securing it. I just believe that his remark was blown way out of proportion. I also remember when you could use the word compassion and not get flamed. As a conservative, I do feel compassion for those children of illegal immigrants.

Flame away and thank you for reading the whole post. :)

We are a nation of laws, not men. The law is an ass at times, but it’s the law. Should we side with Democrats? Yes or no?

Should policy/law be made with heart or head?

Should any other issue we ‘feel’ strongly about cancel out the law because we ‘feel’ a certain way? Which?

I understand your point. And it DOES suck for them. But it is what it is. We follow the law or we side with liberal democrats. Those are the choices. Actions have consequences.

When a father kills someone and goes to prison for life, do we let him off because his kids will suffer for his bad decision?

18 year old college students are not children. They can be admitted to Texas public colleges just like any other international student. In the mean time they can live in a tent in your back yard. Is that hunky dory with you?

I feel compassion for them. But not at the expense of rewarding them for being here illegally, and not to the point of granting them amnesty.

That is NOT compassion, it is IMMORAL.

And here what Rick Perry said:

“If you say that we should not educate children who have come into our state for no other reason than they’ve been brought there by no fault of their own, I don’t think you have a heart.”

He said this to demonize opponents of the bill.

He has also insinuated that we are racists.

These things have revealed the true character of Rick Perry. It is undeniable, and I think they have been fatal to his Presidential aspirations.

The point you seem to be missing is that it’s not like we’re sending them to outer darkness. If those illegals feel that strong about becoming a citizen which would entail all the rights of a citizen, they can simply get in line & do it the RIGHT way. Kind of like all our forefathers did.

Just another point worth mentioning. If these illegals end up getting educated & ultimately enter the work force, what kind of employees/owners will they end up being? Ones that learned up front how to cheat the system, how to lie & not get caught, how to make a mockery of our system? Sounds really compassionate to me /s.

How about we spend just a little more time worrying about how we treat our own citizens who want to go to college & work legally here. With all the unemployment out there, wouldn’t it be better to fill those slots w/ US citizens rather then w/ those taught to cheat the system that are not of our country?
