In Leviticus we are told that we are not to mutilate ourselves. Clearly it is beyond the child’s control but these are not very good Jews. Liberal Jews will be fine with this but not the more observant ones. I’m sure as hell not OK with it;It goes against the Torah and Judaism. I’m not perfect but there is a difference between imperfection and doing something willingly.
Agreed on all points. I have no doubt that they have twisted, illogical and patently false justifications for their behaviors which allow them to smugly present themselves as ‘observant’ Jews but the only ones they are fooling are themselves and the similarly weak-minded or uneducated.
I understand that many serial killers have manufactured elaborate, convoluted and entirely mad justifications for their actions as well, and these two “wimmen” are destroying the life of an innocent child just as surely as any other killer.
It’s utterly heartbreaking and, among other things, serves as a solemn reminder of how critically important it is to vote properly, as the direction of politics defines what kind of world we’re able to live in.
