In politics, if you're explaining, you're losing.

>> Perdue’s staff never said the governor was joking. The word was used in a headline by some media, including The News & Observer <<

Is that a retraction? Because the News & Obfuscator put it in quotes.

Michael Munger, who as the Libertarian candidate ran against Perdue in 2008, said it was clear that Perdue was not serious and that even if her proposal was nonsensical, she had a valid point. "The reaction proves her point," said Munger, a Duke University science professor. "Is that what we should all be arguing about? An off-the-cuff remark instead of what we need do to improve the economy and the situation of the country and the state?"

For me, the take-away from this article is to observe how far the libertarians have fallen from their stated purpose.

To claim the Governor had a valid point is to fly in the face of every principle the Libertarians once stood for.

Thank God I bailed on that party so early in my political evolution.

Sarcasm, my ass! She was floating a trial balloon for the DNC and the White Mosque.

The Imam-in-Chief knows that his only means of remaining in his present job is to suspend elections.

But honest to goodness, who would think something like that would be said seriously.

Anyone who listened to the audio, Bev. There was no hint of humor in your voice.

The fact that you said this so matter-of-factly in public means it's something you've been discussing freely in private.

This one made it to the North Woods. Quite a stir here at the camp. Glad I left the old north state, these New Englanders are so peeved at Ms PurDoodie.

Ms PurDoodie is far from an incompetent political hack. The battle axe helped nominate Pat McCrory to be her opponent in the 2008 election. By nominating a bozo former mayor of the Big “C” as her opponent she was certain to win and did.

Other former Big “C” mayors from both parties suffered similar fates in the recent past. Gantt and Vinroot come to mind.

Fear not, the NC republican party will figure out how to screw this up so bad that the LOON BAT will carry at least 93 of the 100 counties there.

The NC republican party is guilty of felonious incompetence.

She needs to look up the definition of the word “Sarcasm” in the dictionary, because that wasn’t it.

She has put it out there and that's all that matters.

Will see who picks it up and runs with it.

If that happens, there will be the greatest march on the WH we've ever had.

From the musical “Evita”:

PERON
Dice are rolling, the knives are out
Would be presidents are all around
I don’t say they mean harm, but they’d each give an arm
To see us six feet under ground

EVA
This is crazy defeatist talk
Why commit political suicide?
There’s no risk; there’s no call
for any action at all
when you have unions on your side

WORKERS’ VOICES
Peron! Peron!

CHE
A new Argentina!
The chains of the masses untied!
A new Argentina!
The voice of the people cannot be denied!

INDIVIDUAL WORKERS
Nationalisation of the industries that the foreigners
control
Participation in the profits that we make
Shorter hours
Higher wages
Votes for women
Larger dole
More public spending
A bigger slice of every cake

PERON
It’s annoying that we have to fight elections for our cause
The inconvenience—having to get a majority
If normal methods of persuasion fail to win us applause
There are other ways of establishing authority

“Evita” - Music, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lyrics, Tim Rice
