The big deportation numbers of 400,000 a year or so. 97% of that number is simply Mexicans caught at the border and sent back (by bus) to Mexico. It is not Jose the habitual drunk driver in Minneapolis being deported back to Mexico. Or a Chinese cook found selling cocaine being deported back to China. Real deportations via airplane are expensive and too much of a hassle for the Federales to arrange. They do happen but rarely.
