A Florida man convicted of killing a police officer during a traffic stop 33 years ago has been executed at the Florida State Prison. The governor's office said Manuel Valle was pronounced dead at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday. He was the first Florida prisoner to be executed with a new mix of lethal drugs.

nitrogen asphyxiation - the cleanest, sure fire, low cost, environmentally friendly, painless way to execute someone

I had a doctor apply some of that, in liquid form to a wart on my finger, it was anything but "painless", she might as well have used a blow torch.

Wow. When I saw “1978” it occured to me that that was the year my 51 Y.O. brother graduated high school. The system is sick.

Amberdawn, I wuz gonna zing you for that remark but I checked first and saw that somebody already did and also that you are a good sport and laughed at your own funny miscomment.

The Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment

This is true except it apparently doesn't apply to the families of victims. Liberals have caused the families to be punished cruelly for years while they rally around these vermin and prevent their executions. This family waited 33 years for justice. That's totally unacceptable.

Nitrogen asphyxiation is the result of an atmosphere breathed where there is too little oxygen. This causes the person to pass out and without intervention, die. This condition is very dangerous because there are no warning signs. No smell, no feeling of panic or that you can't breath. The victim just falls asleep.
