When the R King beating happened, Bush ordered a review of all complaints filed against police with the FBI for the previous 5 years. There was somewhere around 15,000 complaints filed and only 42 cases IIRC had been pursued in court. One case that was pursued in court was a case against Bill Clinton for ordering his Arkansas state troopers to racial profile.
The dems claimed these 15,000 files proved racism on the part of the Reagan & Bush justice dept.
Following the LA riots the FBI claimed they had reviewed the files and there was nothing there. Bush then ordered the US Attorneys to review the files.
I contacted the US Attorneys office since one of the 15,000 complaints was mine. I provided the USA’s with evidence the FBI was going around the USA’s office to cover up police corruption.
Basically what the files would show is police being agents of the City and Co. govts. the city and co. is responsible for their actions. The city and co. will cover up the police abuse and corruption to avoid or lessen their civil liability and they are using the criminal court system to do it. Innocent people were being prosecuted to cover up police corruption.
City and co. govts are overwhelmingly controlled by dems. Repubs have very little if any control over holding police accountable. In other words, the fact police weren't being held accountable had nothing to do with repub racism as dems claimed, but everything to do with dem moneyism.
Leading up to the 92 election the dems kept calling on Bush to release the content of the FBI files being reviewed by the USA’s. The info was never released.
When Reno was nominated for AG she said the first thing she would do was release the content of the files, instead of releasing the content of the files she fired the USA’s. The news media never followed up on the files or the firing of the USA’s because their attention was diverted by Waco.
May 5th of 1993 I was contacted by one of the Waco investigators. I assure you Waco was a diversion from the second trial of the LA police.
You might also recall during BC’s impeachment Hillary had a threat that was called The Scorched Earth Policy. It was a threat to release FBI files. Everyone assumed it was the files Craig Livingston got and was a threat against the repubs. It wasn't. It was a threat against the dems to release FBI files on complaints filed against police with the FBI. There is roughly 3000 to 3500 complaints filed against police every year with the FBI, and police still aren't being held accountable because of the dem controls city and co govt.
