Editorial: Call Democrats' Bluff On Jobs Bill

Leadership: Despite the president's calls for Congress to "pass this jobs bill," it looks like his own party doesn't even want to bring it up for a vote. Republicans should force one.

When Sen. Harry Reid on Monday was pressed why — more than a week after Obama commanded Congress to pass the jobs bill without "division or delay" — he still hadn't scheduled a vote on it, his excuse was that the Senate floor was "pretty well jammed now."

Oh, really? Over the past three weeks, the Senate has been grappling with such burning national issues as:

• Designating Sept. 12 as National Day of Encouragement and Sept. 23 as National Falls Prevention Awareness Day.

• Passing a resolution in support of National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month.

• Declaring October National Principals Month.

• Creating a National Estuaries Day.

• Honoring this the International Year of Chemistry.

• Passing the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act.

• Recognizing Sept. 24 as a Worldwide Day of Play.

Given all that hard work, we can see how squeezing in a vote on Obama's must-pass-without-delay jobs bill would be tough.

And the intellectually dishonest Big Media is still reporting that it hasn't passed, but not that it hasn't even been introduced. I think Obama thought he could bully Republicans into introducing the Bill when no Dem will. Lord, what a mess for our country. This is the most disastrous Presi..ency ever! And I can't stand Big Media continually saying that the Solyndra debacle started with GWB, when they can't be bothered to tell the public that the Bush Admin rejected the Solyndra request. Big Media is CORRUPT!

Why bother? To even ENTERTAIN the bill on the floor lends it more credibility than it could ever get otherwise.

Senator Reid:

Do you hear that screaming?

It's the Founding Fathers.

If you make it to Heaven they would like a few words with you.

If you don't, well, you'll then get what you so richly deserve. Perhaps you will be soothed by some cowboy poetry.

Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

Orwell was a genius who foresaw the future. Sadly, we have the misfortune of living that future.
