Romney: ‘It’d Be Fun’ If Chris Christie Enters GOP Race.
Wall Street Journal ^ | September 28, 2011 | Danny Yadron

MANCHESTER, N.H. –Count Mitt Romney among those who are interested in New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie joining the GOP presidential race.

“Chris is a great friend, a great guy, a colorful character,” the former Massachusetts governor said at a campaign event here. “Who knows? Maybe he’ll get in. I think it’d be fun if he got in.”

Mr. Christie, the tough-talking Garden State budget cutter, has said he has no intention of joining the race for the GOP nomination. But he sidestepped questions about his plans at a speech last night at the Reagan Presidential Library in California. Speculation about a Christie bid has risen since Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s shaky performance in last week’s GOP debate.

"A bit"? Big boy is all I've been hearing about, although I doubt he'll waddle in. He's good for Joisey.

It would be more fun if Romney dropped out and Christie never enters.

Because he thinks Christy would split the conservative vote—drawing off voters from Perry.

People’ve gotta shut up about Christie. There’s no reason to think he’s getting in, and even if he did, we’re still wasting our time speculating.

You've got to admit that it might be sort of fun to see him break through the flooring on a debate platform.

Now, if only our ex-governor Ed Rendell could convince ObaMao to step aside and let him run, the chances of that actually happening would double.

Wouldn’t it split the New England moderate vote instead, Christie is more an echo of Romney?

There are still some conservatives planning to vote for Perry?

From what I gather from Romney’s personality is that he enjoys a challenge. It just pushes him to work harder. It’s almost like a game to him.

“Because he thinks Christy would split the conservative vote—drawing off voters from Perry.”

or because he knows Christie will not run but could use his endorsement.

It’d be even more fun if RINOmney would leave.

I am from Joisey and love Christie but had to laugh at his speech. He waxed poetic about how both sides had come together and done what was right for the Jersey. He is being a bit naive. The democrats are simply using Christie as cover to do what they know must be done now knowing full well they can undo it at leisure later.

Christie fell asleep at the switch during the redistricing fight which the democrats won ensuring a democrat majority for years and years and years to come. While the democrats appear to be going along with Christie they are really using their power to block him from making any lasting changes, i.e. holding hearings on judicial nominees that would fix our out of control supreme court.

Christie can make all the “bi-partisan” speeches he wants but as soon as his arse is no longer governor, it will be right back to the Corzine days. It makes one jealous of the citizens of Wisconsin and Ohio.

Is Romeny looking for a running mate in Chris Christie? If so they would look like the Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton of politics.

Romney is chuckling all the way to the nomination, as things stand now. Let’s pray they change.

Latest Iowa Poll is he’s leading there among possible caucus goers. This is because anti-Romney is split too many ways.

Latest Florida Poll, he’s leading there...first Southern state he’s ever polled as leading, same reason, anti-Romney vote split too many ways.

This is the McCain formula for the nomination. As we know, it nominated McCain but he could not win the general.

Romney is almost a lock unless something changes to unify the anti-Romney vote.

Also, almost sure to lose the general due to lack of base support, but even if he were to win, all we could say is, not as bad as Obama.

And who would we really have...he’s been all over the political map?
