“Packing heat” is 1930s era Chicago gangster lingo.
Today’s terminology is correctly referred to as “concealed carry.”
Again, the media is clueless.
My sister-in-law says that I “pack heat.” I don’t think that she approves. My brother, some time ago, said out of a clear blue sky, “only the army and cops should have guns.” Their house is gun-free. We are sons of a retired Detroit cop, and are both vets, but the similarities end there.
“Again, the media is clueless.”
As usual.
But, to claim that merely owning a gun equates to “packing heat” is ridiculous. Not every gun is carried around in a purse or a pocket. Some actually are housed in a long case and are used to harvest wild game or crush clay targets.
