I’ve had the magic decoder ring for Obama’s speeches and mindset for years now. He is ALWAYS talking to himself about himself. Other people aren’t quite real to him. The only anchor is he himself, the rest of the world is very confusing to him, in that other people have different opinions, perspectives and experiences than his model of them would allow.
To Obama, these people do not seem real enough to talk to or even about. So when Obama talks he speaks to himself about his perceptions and expectations of others, others as more general concept than as true fellow human individuals. He talks to himself about his own perceptions.
Here, play this quote back in your mind: “I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I am going to press on. I expect all of you to march with me. ... Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying.”
The “all of you” is really Obama’s own sub-personas. He does wear bedroom slippers!
Narcissists in positions of great power are usually extremely dangerous when they realize things are going against them.
He’s self destructing. The damage he does before leaving the White House must be minimized.
He won’t run again.
