First of all let me say that I am a big Savage fan(for the 15 minutes a night) that he actually talks politics, if he doesn’t have a guest host.
For the last 3 months he has been doing nothing but desperately promoting this book and reading it chapter by chapter over the radio.
By listening to him word by word it really sounds like it was written by a high school junior. Other reviews seem to support this.
The rest of the time(95% of the time) Savage promotes himself, has guests hosts, plays segment reruns, asks for money for his legal fund, puts down and makes fun of other hosts etc. Every call that he takes has to start off by saying how great and wonderful Savage is and how great the book is.
It really is sad that a man so talented is reduced to endlessly promoting his book and himself on his radio show. I turn him off.
On the other hand, because I think the 5% of the time that he actually discusses politics he is the best there is, maybe I should buy the book because he really is the best there is on the radio. Once he’s gone we won’t have anyone of Savage’s caliber.
I don’t think Savage realizes it but it is embarrassing when a very talented man is reduced to doing nothing for 2 hours and 45 minutes but building up and complimenting himself and telling us how great he is.
I buy a lot of books from Amazon and I feel guilty at not having yet bought this one but I get furious with Savage when I tune in to listen and night after night its non-stop Savage telling us that he himself is the smartest and greatest person in the world.
I think Savage has become a parody of what he once was and from here on out he’s getting old(like all of us)and is somewhat senile(always talking about himself non-stop)and is out to get every penny he can(but he constantly criticizes every other tv or radio host that does the same thing).
Last year all we kept hearing on the show was that Hollywood was going to make the Michael Savage Biography movie and now all we keep hearing from Savage is that Hollywood is going to make this book into a movie. Maybe I will just wait and buy the DVD of Abuse of Power from Amazon.
Savage’s next book should be about a tv host who has political contacts in Britain and he(Savage) goes over there and convinces them to “Ban Savage from Britain” and the money he gets from his faithful listeners from his “Banned In Britain Legal Fund” goes to support the political campaign of the next Conservative Candidate for Prime Minister.
Once the Conservative Candidate is elected he un-bans Savage and they are both a million dollars richer and Savage writes a book about how terrible Britain is for banning him.”
A “savage” review, indeed. I’ll take a look at the book in the bookstore and see if it grabs my interest. I’m not much for thrillers.
As an avid listener to radio since the early 1940s I can say: WRONG!
There may be none exactly like Savage but believe me if we can keep our Republic there will be others just has effective.
Otherwise, what's there to dispute? I will add that no other media (mainstream as these conservative shows are) personality has done more to speak out against and combat our Nation's enemies that Michael Savage.
I will say again that though I did not hear Joe Pyne on the radio when he was on stations all over the Country (the count was 600 stations?) but I did very much enjoy his short-lived TV show. Talk about being banned in Briton -- Pyne was banned here! He and other conservatives were blamed for causing JFK's assassination and Pyne was forced off the air. If I remember correctly Bob Grant told the story of how he got his start by having to take over the slot Pyne lost on his (Grant's) employer's station.
Savage has been on the front lines for how long now battling the enemies of the country both within and without, these crybabies who can't stand to hear Savage promote himself , what the hell have they done for Savage, are they well known by our enemies the world over, have they been unfairly banned too by another so called Western democratic government, do they need body guards, do they have to constantly look over their shoulder everytime they go out in public, do they need to worry when they're in their own home at night that it may be their last night alive, do they have to worry about any number of domestic Muslim fanatics, militant homo fanatics, crazed gang-banging illegal aliens, devious corrupt government liberal officials and any number of enemies that Savage has viciously railed against over the years?
Savage has promoted many causes over the years most recently that of imprisoned soldier Lt. Michael Behenna, so imo Savage has earned his due to promote his own books how and whenever he wants to, his labor of love for us thru the years, for our country and our military is without equal, so the least we can do is give something back to Savage for his years of service to us, and that is quit whining about him promoting himself to his audience because we're all he has, and the radio venue via his show is the only way his book can get promoted, unlike other 'approved' conservatives who get plenty of help to promote their books.
I for one still enjoy the fact that Savage is still on the air considering his health issues and his age and the fact that Savage bores easy when he feels he has met his career goals, and you can have Levin, Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck til the cows come home, I've heard them all, but for me Savage is still #1 and I dread the day when he finally leaves the air. Now for another jog.
