A new 33-minute documentary film titled 180 is changing public opinion on abortion 180 degrees in a matter of minutes, as author and film producer Ray Comfort uses the new film to ask students a question that challenges their abortion views.
Titled to reflect the complete turnaround in the mindsets of all to whom the question is posed, the award-winning film shows eight pro-choice people, mostly college students, changing their stance to pro-life just moments after the question is asked in its entirety. It is Comforts hope that the documentary, releasing online September 26, will go viral once that happens. If the initial reaction is any indication, it will.
While skeptics of 180 say they cant believe anyone would change his or her mind so quickly, Comfort accepts and even understands their disbelief, stating that he could hardly believe it himself when he first viewed the footage in the editing room. Initially, 180 was not the film he meant to produce. At the time, Comfort was taping interviews for a DVD to go along with a book on Hitler and the holocaust. In the course of the interviews, one question led to another, and the discussion led to abortion.
It began with two male university students completely changing their minds about abortion when we asked them this one question, he said. We realized it wouldnt be convincing to have only males speaking on the subject, so we took to the streets, asking that one particular question, and found that six women changed their minds from pro-abortion to pro-life in a matter of seconds. It was amazing.
Comfort quickly recognized the films potential to open the doors of discussion. I have held up pro-life signs. I have printed pro-life literature and spoken against abortion in pulpits and in my books, but I have felt that all my efforts were almost futile that is, up until now. In 180 we have a nation changer.
Most of us know that we should be doing something to stop this horror, but the thought of protesting is a little unnerving, especially with the demonization of those who do so, Comfort adds. But here is something each of us can easily do we can give this DVD out. We can pass them out on the streets, leave copies on park benches or on seats in malls or give it to the checkout lady at the supermarket. This isnt hard to do, and it will save lives perhaps millions of lives.
Stacy Massey, the founder and president of Abortion Recovery InterNational, says the movie has made a huge impact on her and her ministry stands ready to help women who have had abortions who see the documentary.
A few months ago, renowned author Randy Alcorn of Eternal Perspective Ministries, called our office to ask if wed prayerfully consider being listed as a resource for those hurting after an abortion, who might be triggered after viewing the movie 180, she says. We agreed to review the production.
After being allowed to watch the movie in whole, I have to admit being quite taken back by the content. The movie looked as if it were shot in my home town of Huntington Beach. The pectoral background immediately made me feel as if I were there, she added. The people interviewed were typical of young adults roaming the pier and beach side setting I was so accustomed to. Yet Ray Comfort took an approach that none have yet taken in the pro-life movement. I was left utterly speechless.
If anything is going to change the direction of our nation (other than the testimonies of post-abortion men and women, this is it, I thought to myself, Massey said.
Abby Johnson, who resigned her position as the director of a Texas Planned Parenthood abortion business, has also seen the film and said pro-life advocates must check it out, saying it is one of the best things you will ever watch.

Wouldn’t the proper contrast be “from Pro-Murder to Pro-Life”?
Like someone else said on another thread, unborn babies are designated by ignorants and leftists as less than 2nd class citizens (they’re considered not even living) yet those same leftists will prattle on about racism and the alleged 2nd class status still given to minorities.
Killing a fetus is still murder any way you flip the burger, if abortion is legalized all murder should be legalized imho. What is criminal statute murder but really late term abortion?
Good stuff.
I don't disagree, but remember the idea here is to change people's minds.
Starting off by calling the other side "pro-murder" might make you feel good, but is not going to help win any converts.
So what’s the question?
A lot of people were walking around topless?
Thanks Rhema!
Ray has a wonderful ministry and many,
many jewels in his crown.
Excellent movie. Ray Comfort is top drawer.
The whole point is that the “other side” has completely altered the english language making “abortion” a euphemism for murder. It doesn’t make me feel good at all to call a spade a spade, I’m not sure how it would.
How exactly are you going to change people’s minds by using the “other side’s” language?
You’re just continually validating their viewpoints by using their language.
KeePING the faith!
KeePING the faith!
He preached at our church one time. He loves the Lord and has a hunger for the lost. God bless him.
Actually, I thought it was mighty depressing to see how many of the young (roughly college-age) people in the first half of the video knew nothing, jack nothing, about Hitler. And even if they had some kind of vague awareness of who he was and what he represented, they seemingly had no very firm moral convictions about anything whatsoever.
A few did respond thoughtfully, and then about half a dozen made it to the point of concluding (after much leading and prodding) that abortion was wrong.
And yet I'm not quite confident that the opinions finally elicited from them ("oh, yeah, man, then I guess, um, then I guess abortion would be, um, wrong..." )actually count as "convictions," although they might be the very beginning of a thinking process.
Abortion clinic workers cynically say that they get "pro-life" clients all the time who are "against" abortion in all but three cases:
Cynical, but I think, very likely true.
The producers of this video--- I wish them well. I would be interested to know if anybody who calls themselves "pro-choice" has ever seen this video and, on this basis alone, changed their mind.
Killing a baby in the womb is okay when?
I’ll second that ... What’s the question???
Thanks for the PING(S)!
Ray Comfort really has an extraordinary way about him. He is so comfortable evangelizing, people are naturally drawn to him.
I will have to check this out!
I recal about a decade ago when we were comparing the abortion apologetics to slavery apologetics since both dehumanize a class of humans in order to justify doing anything to them. We were attacked as fanatics then ... but it is a valid comparison and the dead-soul people are tweaked in their soul, especially black dead-soul people. ... And that's a good thing. We care about their eternal destiny enough to keep at it.

We care about their eternal destiny enough to keep at it. The soul has no color, as far as I have ever discovered.
