Or do you not expect such a common-sense answer?

If these guys want to raise money for rape crisis centers, they could have donated their time and labor and done something truly useful. And modest, too, if they don’t stand on the street corner and beat their chests about what a wonderful thing they did.

But that’s not REALLY the point after all, is it? No, it’s all about this mythical “awareness”, which is the standard liberal clap-trap used to address a problem rather than actually dealing with it. It makes people feel good to “raise awareness” when in reality I doubt “awareness” has ever stopped one rape.

So, raising money is really secondary. The real point is being “shocking” or “outrageous” to get the media attention for “awareness”.

Pointless narcissism, in my book. You want to help, then help. Be useful, be productive. Do something that actually works.

My younger son participated in the “Safe Walks” program at his university, which was a stone’s throw from some rough urban neighborhoods. He’d be on call to provide escort upon request to women walking on the campus at night.

He’s never admitted to any use of high heels, though.

Even money says this started when a bunch of University of Alabama Phi Gamma Delta brothers were caught during the fraternity's bi-weekly stroll in cocktail dresses and heels.

I've already discussed the fallacy of "awareness". They raised money for a good cause -- great! The method they used? Not so much. It's a sop to the gay movement to have men dress up as women, even as a stunt. So no, I don't like it, and I have every right to say that. Stopping rape is as much about changing the mindset of people who commit is as it is about arming people.
