Nah, too much common sense. Arming women...are you serious? Much better to hold marches and speeches where people can get attention by telling other attention-seekers what wonderful people they are for holding theses marches and speeches. Doesn't accomplish anything or protect one woman, but hey, they mean well. Meaning well is what counts over results. (smirk)
I participated in the one in Wilmington this past weekend. My daughter was a volunteer organizer. It was a great time for an equally great cause.
And I sincerely hope none of the bashers on this thread ever need the services of a Rape Crisis Center for yourselves or your loved ones.
The last episode of M*A*S*H we had a big party in college. I was Col. Flag disguised as Klinger. Wore a skirt borrowed from a girlfriend that was in ROTC. No real thinking behind it, other than to be goofy.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s a fundraiser, not a freakin demonstation.
There are other ways to raise money than stupid stunts. Good for them for raising money. But they don’t have to cross-dress to do that.
So how much have you raised?
All the commentary directed at those attempting to raise awareness and not a single comment directed at what they are attempting to raise awareness about, sexual assaults on campus.
Kind of a shame.
Of course it’s outrageous. It was so designed. Have some of us forgotten what it’s like to be 20 years old and a bit over the top?
Frankly, as the father of a sophomore girl, I’d walk with these guys in support of their efforts. It might keep me from having to kill the punk who messes with my daughter. Very small price to pay.
It was still a bit disturbing.
You rock, please see my #27.
I have 2 girls in college. Campuses can be a very dangerous place to be a young woman. I applaud these men for supporting a very worthwhile cause.
Over my years, I’ve raised funds for lots of good causes. I never had to put on a dress and high-heels to do it, either. I’ve washed cars, cooked, cleaned, done yard work, etc., with the proceeds of my labor going to charity.
Useful work that benefited both the donor and the recipient. Not a stupid stunt.
Ankle breakers.
foolishness knows no bounds.
Whatever. You have obviously entirely missed the point of this effort and its equally obvious you’re not going to get it any time soon.
Gotcha - so kevkrom apporoved methods of raising money are acceptable, all others are stupid stunts.
You think your bake sale got a lot of discussion nationwide on internet forums?
Me neither.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s obviously a fundraiser AND a demonstration.
It’s a demonstration of freaks.
So you have an issue of demonstrating against sexual assaults on women?
