The plan for Casco Bay is to mine the approaches with old lobster traps. That will foul their propellers, slowing them down to be embarrassingly water-bombed by the Sea Scouts or the Bowdoin Sailing Team.

To make it really a sporting event, the Suez should be off limits, with the windward mark set at Capetown. Max range @ 10-12knts for all of these ships is probably about 3500 miles or less. How they would fuel and feed themselves along a 10,000- mile trip is a mystery to me, unless the Somali pirates accompany them with a captured tanker or two, with the CHICOM air-dropping take-out.
