IMHO, there is a coup de gras coming for Perry when someone looks into the "Texas Corridor". It was a colossal flop with voters, but he pushed it as hard as Obama pushed Obama Care. It had the same smell of the Guardasil debacle. Many financial supporters stood to gain from it and Perry pushed it down our throats for years before we were finally able to kill it. As the details started coming out, some of the land that would be condemned was "miles" wide and hundreds of miles long. It was the biggest land grab in history IMO. Hundreds of billions would have been set aside for decades of pouring concrete 6 lanes one way. Try to imagine 12 lanes wide with acres and acres set aside for truck stops and hotels with spaghetti bowls everywhere from the valley to Arkansas. Why? To bring more dope and illegals inland.
It was VERY unpopular and people were almost in revolution mode before it finally died. Same as Gaurdasil. Remember Perry was a Blue Dog Dem before he switched sides to save his skin. It's sorta like a Libertarian. You love them and love them, then they eventually talk about legalizing drugs and losing wars because Washington didn't want foreign entanglements.
