Just as Perry torpedoed Bachmann’s campaign, Cain is now sinking Perry’s campaign. Romney will be the last man standing, much as McCain was in 2008. History repeats itself. The GOP almost always goes with the runner up to the last campaign like it did with Ronald Reagan, Bush Sr, Bob Dole, and John McCain. Last time the GOP went with a dark horse out of the blue was Wendell Willkie in 1940. It just doesn’t happen very often.

Herman Who?

Remember the Jimmy Who? campaign that eventually led to Carter’s election? Maybe we need a Herman Who? campaign.

I like him a lot. Give ‘em hell, Herman!

If Cain is the nominee we’d have Cain and his 9-9-9 plan vs president 666.

Which is why Cain has to triangulate and start shooting arrows in Mitt’s direction. Cain is VERY smart. He knows who is standing in his way.

I would expect Cain’s poll numbers to rise once Bachmann and Santorum call it a day. Their combined 8-10% (though it seems inconsequential at present) would likely gravitate toward him.

He is definitely smart, and I think he's calculating when and where to fire.

If Cain is the nominee we’d have Cain and his 9-9-9 plan ....

Once upon a time in America, in the days of the Lincoln-Douglas Debates, ideas had to be explained and then defended in detail. Today, in what now passes for so-called "debates", what counts is being able to throw out catchy sounding sound bites and memorized wise cracks ("Where's the beef?") in less than 30 seconds.

The 9-9-9 Plan sounds cute and catchy but, now that Cain is no longer flying under the radar, the 9-9-9 Plan will get dissected.

The plan, for the first time in U.S. History, introduces a FEDERAL SALES TAX. As U.S. History has show, once you let the nose of a Tax Camel into your tent, the Tax Camels fat butt will eventually follow.

In 1913, the brand new Federal Income Tax was introduced and the top rate was only 7% (A cute little camel nose). By 1944, the top rate had ballooned to 94% (One huge, fat camel arse.)

Once you introduce a brand new Federal Sales Tax at 9%, what prevents a money addicted Federal government from jacking it up in the near future to 10% .... 11% .... 12% .... 14% .... 16% .... 18% .... ?

Think about it.
