Herman Cain's Speech at CPAC

This morning I came across this video from SeekAndFind on another thread. After watching it with my daughter, this thought occurred to me:

For many years, the establishment Republicans and the MSM have convinced us that the only way we can win elections is to choose a moderate in the primaries. They tell us that we have to choose a candidate that can appeal to the Independents who are soft on the Constitution and social issues. They tell us that our candidate can't win if he's too polarizing. He has to be soft on abortion ('I'm pro-life, but I'm not going to do anything about it') or he'll loose women, soft on illegal immigration ('I'm for border security, but I'm for amnesty for people who're already here') or he'll loose the Hispanic vote, and not too radical when it comes to overhauling the tax code or he'll intimidate people who are comfortable with the status quo.

So we hold our noses and say, "We need to vote for the most conservative guy who can actually get elected." As a group, we've compromised our core values over and over again.

We need to stop this. We need to take responsibility for our candidates. This push to the Left has given us legions of RINOs and enabled the Democrats' rise to socialism. It's given us an unmanageable tax code, a broken school system, a broken economy, courts packed with liberal/moderate judges and a terrifyingly overreaching EPA that stomps the rights of property owners into the ground.

In Herman Cain, we have a rare opportunity. We can put forth a leader who has the ability to actually *change* people's minds.

He won't go into the general election and conveniently shift and soften his conservative arguments to make himself more appealing to the 'moderates'. He'll come out swinging and publicly CRUSH liberal ideals under an unapologetic, rational boot.

His campaign has the potential to do more to educate young people than Rush, Quinn, and FR combined.

To those of us who're so frightened by another 4 years of Obama that you're not willing to support a serious conservative in the fears that he can't sway the Independents and be elected, I say this:

Yes, we would have an easier time getting a moderate elected.

And all we'd have for our trouble is a slower march to the edge of the cliff. That's all RINOs do. They keep us on the same path of destruction that the Democrats do, only at a more 'moderate' pace. They don't turn us around.

Herman Cain is an educator. He can win hearts and minds for the conservative cause. He can motivate people to do their homework in a way that none of the other candidates can. He's charismatic and likeable. he's intelligent. He can articulate the conservative argument with humor and grace. He's a wonderful communicator.

He won't compromise conservative ideals. He won't falter or soften his stance in the fear of alienating moderates of leftists. He'll win hearts and minds.

It's time to bring the *real* fight to the fore, liberal vs conservative, instead of voting out of fear.

If we don't, if we offer up another wishy-washy moderate, we will win this election.

And, in the long term, our nation could be lost.

We are on the crossroads of history and we have a rare and wonderful opportunity to turn really turn the Titanic.

If we do this honestly, and hold true to what we know is true and right, we can and we *WILL* win this thing.

A very attractive couple. Mrs. Cain is impeccably attired, as is Mr. Cain.

Sorry if I made it sound like I would just sit back and let things go as they may. I’m not like that. I will go all out for Cain. Like I said, I will start really spreading information on him as much as possible. I was saying that after all that’s all said and done, It’s in God’s hands.

I always liked the point that when Paul and Silas were in prison and their chains fell off, they still had to get up and walk out themselves. God won’t (He can, but won’t) do it all for us.

“If we don’t take charge of our lives and break the cycle of dependency now, then one day we will tell our grandchildren what America used to be like, when men were free,” warned Herman Cain.

“I’m not going to have that conversation with my grandkids.”

Herman Cain: Making a joyful noise

EXCERPT :

The big “news” these days is that presidential candidate Herman Cain recorded a Gospel album about 15 years ago.

http://eyeonfaith.blogspot.com/2011/07/herman-cain-making-joyful-noise.html

In the above article, it also tells us the background of the church Herman Cain attends in Atlanta ( he’s an associate minister of that church).

The Antioch Baptist Church North has also communicated its convictions. Headlining its website are these descriptors: Bible-Based, Christ-Centered, Holy Spirit-Led, Mission-Bound, along with Fellowship, Evangelism, Doctrine, Stewardship. This church traces its roots back to an 1877 “prayer band” of eight former slaves.

______________

Compare his church to the one Obama attended in Chicago.

Rush just started his show about Cain and the straw poll. He said....just think about it! Cain could be our FIRST, authentically Black President. Love it!

Now’s the time and Cain is the man.

America NEEDS Herman Cain.

He is focused, clear headed AND fearless.

Actually he has an edge... he can’t be that ‘first minority President’ who got elected and F’d up.

“O” took care of THAT! Cain (or any subsequent minority President) would have a real long way to go to do a worse job than Obama

And his radio show podcasts (I think these are archived at WSB), and his commentaries, and his books, etc.

And his friends and his family and his church and his coworkers and his employees.

He’s not perfect, but he is a consistent and solid conservative.

Wonderful; so now “Republicans” can vote for the Black Man to demonstrate they aren’t racist. Even if he were to be the next President that wouldn’t remove the MSM re-inforced racist label that’s been plastered all over Republicans in general and the Tea Party crowd in particular. Thus....this isn’t a particularly good scheme. And if the thinking is that Cain can win because he’ll take the Black vote, think again.........they hate his guts as a traitor to the tribe. And thereis no real reason to believe that the mush head independents will chose him over Obama.
