A student who chooses to attend a private school is bound by the policies of that school, however misguided they may be.

And those students have the same rights that the Left does, to speak out against policies they find offensive, in order to persuade the school to change them.

Exactly; but, the Vanderbilt policy should be changed because it’s stupid, not because private institutions should be made to conform to the same rules as public institutions.
