I feel bad for her. She reminds me of me.

I have absolutely NO interest in the pubic eye. I’m seriously uncomfortable in crowds. One-on-one, I’m articulate and confident and I do just fine. Put me in a group and I stumble and fumble and spend most of my time trying to wrestle my foot out of my mouth. I’m embarrassed for days afterward.

One of the most horrifying moments of my life came when my husband told me that he was thinking of running for public office. He had a good laugh at my panic.

From what I’ve read, Mrs. Cain is in the same camp. This is going to be horrible for her. I hope she can keep a low profile. It sounds like her husband is determined to protect her.

Honestly, I care not a whit about Mrs. Cain. It would be great to meet her, but I think this country needs a break from the constant attention on the First Lady role with all the silly causes and all the silly attention — and in the recent case, from all the vacations and flaunting of wealth in front of Americans, many of whom are struggling financially.

If Cain is happy with his wife, that’s all that’s important to me. This time, let’s leave the spouses out of it.
