In Donald Gibson, Battling Wall Street: The Kennedy Presidency (1994), it's revealed modern Malthusians and extreme conservationists opposed Kennedy's call for technology to improve the standard of living.

Do we not recall Rachel Carson's Silent Spring (1962) thanks to which we now proudly kill a million children each year needlessly banning DDT.

Ice cores show us near the end of an inter-ice-age cycle, if anything, cooling back again.

When we ought to push for plentiful and cheap energy to provide clean water and sanitary living conditions for all, when our agricultural professionals (farmers and scientists together) can feed all of us better and better, why do the oppressors seek to demoralize us.

The drumbeat of climate change is nothing we didn't hear from Cotton Mather in Salem, Massachusetts in 1620, or in the star chamber of the Spanish Inquisition.

Climate propaganda coming from those who cannot reliably predict tomorrow's weather or next week's hurricane is nothing but a knife to our throat demanding our wallet and our watch.

We are ending the reign of the shrieking fairies and carping harpies of media and academe, of Hollywood and pop culture.

The Night of the Living Dead is ending.

When the sun comes up next November we'll all step over the striped leggings poking out from under the fallen house and move on down the road.

Rick Perry – “spiritual” or “anti-intellectual?” [snip "So how will Rick Perry’s faith be derided? For starters, he will be subjected to ridicule centered around the assumption that in his own mind, EVERYTHING he does is “God’s will”. That kind of mockery plays heavily on the assumption that religious individuals are either too stupid or too gullible or too arrogant to objectively use history, reason, or the counsel of others when making decisions. He will also be subjected to the same kind of “If Perry really was a TRUE Christian then he would …” second-guessing that liberals heaped on George W. Bush, especially after the US invasion of Iraq. This will be folded into another attack strategy that seems to be underway, namely that Perry’s record as Texas governor proves that he is callous and lacks compassion for the poor. The WaPo article quotes William Martin, a professor at Rice University: “I looked at his policies, and they didn’t seem to be something that would flow from a heart full of Christian love, so I was thinking he had found religion conveniently. But as best I can tell, it seems to be a long-standing conviction of his.” [snip]
