Happy 15th Birthday, FreeRepublic!

Attended the March for Justice in ‘October ‘98, was a lurker then, signed up 12/30/98.

Jim put out the call on FR for the March for Justice, and 4,000 people from all over the nation showed up in DC to protest Bubba and to press for his impeachment, which happened about 7 weeks later.

This was the first political equivalent of what we would call a “flash mob” today—then, to use the internet in this way was genius.

In 1999,and 2000, Satrday morning protests at the White House kept tourists and residents of DC focussed on the perfidy of the Clintoon Administration. The “Crime Wave” poster was a tourist favorite. The DC Chapter led the way in inspriring protests, and in conducting the rules of protests for Freepers. And who can forget the Bill Clinton chant?

Two years later, in 2000, was “Sore Loserman”, and Freepers in Florida preventing a count of votes behind closed doors.

9/11/01—FreeRepublic was among the first to have news of what was really happening around the country as we endured a day of infamy.

Summer 2004, we joined with the SwiftBoat Vets to unmask the Communist in the race, John F. Kerry, the only person in all of history to win five combat medals in a three month span and never spend a day in a hospital bed from wounds, and one of our own stopped Dan Rather and CBS from using a forged document to bring down George Bush.

The rallies at Walter Reed, in Olney,MD, the rise of the Tea Party, the massive marches in DC in 2009 and 2010—all have been participated in by hordes of Freepers.

Our most important battle now is ahead of us—the elction of 2012 and the utter defeat of a criminal enterprise—Obama and the Democratic Party.

We will be a force for good once again.

It's a pleasure to read your accounts of Freepers and FreeRepublic. Good to remember.

Happy Birthday to the best website on the planet.
