I can tell you I was absolutely undecided as a delegate voter when we arrived in Orlando Thursday. Couldn't imagine how any of the candidates would sway me to an enthusiastic decision. I will point you to my post this morning to Liz. It recaps my observations through last night. By this afternoon, there was no doubt the tide had turned in a big way for Cain. Truly an experience to behold.
One last thing--at Presidency IV, I was definitely leaning toward Fred Thompson upon arrival. By the end of the weekend, it was painfully clear Thompson's campaign was in deep trouble. Rick Perry's supporters went through the exact same experience this time. On the way back to the hotel, I chatted with a woman who was a hardcore Perry supporter going into this event. This afternoon, she carried two signs--one for Perry and one for Cain because she saw the writing on the wall. She was shell shocked at the outcome.
Thanks for your on-the-scene perspective. Reading your post to Liz, I’d call it the very definition of momentum. I never expected this, and couldn’t be more pleased about it.
Thanks NautiNurse, you just gave me the chills reading that.
Thanks for the ground truth, NN.
