You are missing the point.

Many of us were supporting Perry knowing full well he was soft on immigration. We were willing to look past some of his not so conservative stances. But when you call 80% of Americans "heartless" for not supporting in-state tuition for illegals, you lost it.

That's the point. Not that he's not pure 100% conservative.
