I heard him on Hannity yesterday give a full uninterupted explanation. I felt much better about it.
I live in Texas, not far from the Louisiana state line. If a student from that state wants to go to the local college here, he or she pays out of state tuition, but if that student is from Mexico, they pay in-state. And no matter how you slice it or try to defend it, it is just plain unfair for taxpayers to finance non-citizens. No wonder we have so many illegals. We keep offering them incentives to come here. This is one of those incentives. Perry said if you didn’t agree you had no heart. I say if you do agree you have no head.
Their regular out of state tuition levels now exceed those of YALE UNIVERSITY! That's a message to Americans that they are not wanted in Texas schools anymore.
While he's not the "perfect" candidate, he will do if nothing better floats to the top. I'm really afraid that Romney may somehow end up being it and while better than McCain would have been and way better than Obama, it would be a 4-year stumbling block to real reforms.
If we can boost presence in the House and take the Senate, a Perry or better would probably get us on the road.
