The Republican presidential debate last night may prove to be decisive in the race. Rick Perry received the biggest boos and criticisms, and Herman Cain had a terrific performance that could vault him to the head of the second-tier group, as Michele Bachmann seemed to fade away.
Rick Perry suffered the most in the debate. He was loudly booed by the audience when he defended granting in-state tuition for the children of illegal immigrants, stating that you dont have a heart if you oppose their education.
((snip))
Herman Cain had a spectacular night, winning both the loudest and most consistent applauses.

Big Night for Cain, Tough Night for Perry
Herman Cain is my ideal candidate.
“On Friday’s Mark Levin Show: Mark stresses once again that there aren’t just 2 candidates running for GOP nomination. Don’t believe what the media or the Republican establishment wants you to think. There is a lot of time left and a lot of issues that need to be debated on and in no way is this settled on two candidates yet.”

Mark is right. We DO have a lot of time left! Let’s vet those candidates before we decide.
I like Mr. Cain and Rep. Bachmann, but historically, I probably have a better chance of being the Republican nominee than either of them, and if you’re honest with yourselves, you know I’m right.
I like Cain also. I hope his campaign gains traction form these debates.
Why?
I am not getting the ‘historical’ comment.
I will respectfully disagree. Herman Cain gains more traction after every debate. Despite the fact that the MSM is giving him the Alan Keyes treatment, Cain has an extremely high likeability rating and his popularity continues to increase.
I am behind him for the long haul. He's not making enemies with gratuitous swipes, he points out the differences as a passionate gentleman. He's obviously earned the respect of folks on the stage, since 3 of them said they would like him as their VP.
It's not over for him until the primaries say it's over.
Race and gender aside, we have NEVER elected someone to the presidency without either flag officer level military or elective experience, like Mr. Cain. We have only once elected someone as president who only had the House of Representatives on their resume, and that was in a freakish 4-way race.
I don’t know what chance Cain may have but he is a conservative and as such he deserves my support so he will get it. The pro-ILLEGAL alien or pro-abortion front runner RINO turds do not and thus never will.
I'm sick of hearing he's "unelectable." Really? If the Dems could push The Teleprompter on us, surely we could put a REAL businessman into the White House. Someone who actually understands economics without all the freakin' graft baggage.
Second tier my arse.Cain is the man on all things conservatives care about.Perry showed what he was all about. Not much. There is a reason they call him governor goodhair.
I never said it was “over” for anyone, I’m just commenting on historical trends.
Greetings 2ndDivisionVet:
Respectfully disagree on one point. Herman Cain has done remarkedly well. Representative Bachmann shot herself in the foot hiring Ed Rollins; that’s when her campaign officially ended. Think she knows it yet?
Cheers,
OLA
If Sarah doesn't run, my vote goes to Cain.
Ok, your explanation makes sense.
I just came from the Herman Cain campaign website. Ordered a yard sign and two bumperstickers.
We will make additional donations, but right at this moment in time, we think that we should be helping to get his name out there and hopefully folks will do some homework and find him as wonderful a man as we.
