“And that law allowing children of illegals to attend Texas schools at in-state rate ... well, that was passed in 2000 when people felt far differently about the situation than they do today. It was passed with only 4 negative votes and would have over-ridden a governor’s veto had he chosen to veto it.

It probably wouldn’t be passed today and Rick probably wishes it had never been passed.

The point is that certain requirements have to be met and it is certainly not tuition free. Texas colleges are as high as anywhere”

If Rick Perry had regrets about signing that “Texas Dream Act” law, then he had the perfect opportunity to repeal it in the last Texas Legislative session that ended in the spring.

But did he???.... No.

He needs to go talk to the parents of all the kids from suburban districts that have to work thier azzes off to get in the top 10% competing with the Indian kids who’s parents skated in here on H1B visas, further taking up jobs that Americans should have.

And can you tell me what’s fair about an illegal Mexican kid who graduates in the top 10% of his ghetto high school class with a 3.5 GPA and gets an automatic admission to UT or Texas A&M (by the top 10% rule)... who then takes a spot that should go to some native kid from an uber competitive suburban district, who took all AP courses, got a 4.0 GPA and graduated in the top 20% of his class!!

I am sick of seeing smart native Texan kids having to go out of state to college because we’re “obligated” to educate the spawn of 1.5 million invaders from Me-hee-co and India.
