“Any person subject to this chapter [of the UCMJ] who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy,” Article 125 of the UCMJ states. “Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
There is also the point of "good order and discipline". Anything that interferes with that is also subject to court martial.

I read that as meaning that for military husbands and wives, only the missionary position is permitted. I wonder how many of my fellow airmen back in the '70s knew this??
That’s why every pregnant soldier who has to be airlifted out and sent home should be prosecuted and have to pay back the cost of her extraction. She should also be required to name the individual or individuals who sodomized her.
