He doesn't like that some CONSERVATIVES don't believe that gays can be conservatives. Gays can be conservative (and Christian) as much as a business owner (like Warren Buffett) can be a liberal.
Saying Gays can't be Conservative is judging the whole group by the people who are at the gay pride parades. (Where you won't ever find my friend!!)
Their choice to identify themselves that way does not make it so.
A "pro-choice" Catholic has disqualified themselves from being a Catholic whether they choose to accept it or not.
"THANK YOU!
Finally, a voice of reason. (You know we will both be called liberals, now, don't you?)
I'm on to your word games. :-) No one at this thread, myself included, have said anything negative, derogatory about being gay and CONSERVATIVE. Being gay and CONSERVATIVE poses no political, moral dilemmas for anyone. No one here on this thread have said gays can't be CONSERVATIVE.
The issue discussed here is about being gay and REPUBLICAN.
What has been said is that gays can not be REPUBLICAN for all the reasons stated throughout this thread. The difference between the two is manifestly worlds apart.
You are talking about fiscal conservatives (can be as socially liberal on issues as Obama!!!) vs social conservatives (not liberal on fiscal or social issues).
That is one of the concerns about Perry. Noone is overyly concerned on the fiscal side. however, he is squishy on a MAJOR social issue.
you can not support in-state tuition for illegals, or gay marriage, gays in the Military,,or RombamaCare or any number of pro-regressive issues and be a social conservative... In my not so humble opinion.
