Thad McCotter dropping out of presidential race - endorses Romney

Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) is dropping out of the presidential race and endorsing former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

If you didn’t even know McCotter was running for president, you’re probably not alone. He was never in a debate and barely registered in polls. He placed tenth in Iowa’s Ames straw poll, with 35 votes.

McCotter, a five-term lawmaker known mostly for his quirky one-liners and sideline in rock music, says the press did him in.

“If they keep you out of the debates, you are out of the conversation and you can’t run,” McCotter told the Detroit News. “It was sort of death by media.”

The Romney endorsement is somewhat surprising. In his brief campaign, McCotter attacked Romney regularly, once suggesting that his rival could be President Obama's running mate. Now he calls Romney “the most electable.”

McCotter said in a statement that he would seek reelection to his 11th district seat.

I'm beginning to wonder if Romney brought in all the no hopers so as when he wants, they drop out and endorse him.

That would seem to be a good surmise.

I admit to being a bit confused. From what I heard when McCotter got in, he’s hugely conservative. And now he’s endorsing Romney???

McCotter - v., departing without arriving. "Instead of going to that dull party, I'll just McCotter it and watch TV, and say I had a swell time when I see the host at work Monday morning."

Hats made out of aluminum are loose fitting and do not cut off circulation, so I read on a conspiracy blog.

“If they keep you out of the debates, you are out of the conversation and you can’t run,” McCotter told the Detroit News. “It was sort of death by media.”

That is the very reason I dropped out of the race.

I was in but no one knew it.

McCotter can play the guitar but I play the radio, and we both got two votes.

Why do these clowns bother?

As predicted, the march to Romney continues.

The fix is in, and Willard now has smooth sailing to the nomination now that Perry has been destroyed. (ugh!)
