Although Rick Perry said at a debate on Thursday that he was “lobbied” by a 31-year-old woman suffering from cervical cancer to require young girls to receive the HPV vaccine, he did not meet the cancer patient until after he had already issued his executive order mandating the vaccine.
It was a rhetorical high point for Perry at the debate in Florida, when he put a personal face on the story and pointed to his friendship with a woman who later died of cervical cancer.
“I got lobbied on this issue. I got lobbied by a 31 year old young lady who had stage 4 cervical cancer,” said Perry. “I spent a lot of time with her. She came by my office She talked to me about this program. I readily admitted we should have had an opt-in but I don’t know what part of opt out most parents don’t get and the fact is I erred on the side of life and I will always err on the side of life as a governor as a president of the United States.”

If we had a media that cared about informing the public, we would hear as much about this statement as Bachmann’s Gardisal causes brain damage statement. But our media cares about benefiting the left and money. Perry is more likely to buy ads, which is why VaccineGate has been hidden for so long in the first place.

Gov. Perry will have trouble retelling the tragic story of this young woman in the future. Major slippage here.
If this is accurate, someone has a huge self-inflicted wound.
Someone else need s to get in the race. I don’t care if it is Palin, Christie, Ryan, or even Giuliani. Please anyone but Romney.

It should be obvious to everyone that Perry is not up to the challenge. Newt, at this point, is the only one I have confidence in. We do need some others to enter the race.
Perry is finished. It is now Romney and we must all pull together to rid our country of this daemon. Romney has humility and greatness. Go Romney/ Rubio— It’s over!! Lets whip Hillary’s ass!!— ( obama will not even be the nominee)
This comment he made at her funeral also bothers me:
“Someday they will respond with compassion when they once responded with ignorance. And, someday, they will come to a place where they recognize the paramount issue is whether we will choose life, and protect life, without regard to what mistakes, if any, have been made in the past.”
I’m SICK of people attacking my character. If I don’t want Harriet Myers, I hate women. If I don’t want illegals crossing the border and making the area near me dangerous to hike in, I hate people with different names. And if I don’t believe my daughter should take a vaccine that frankly doesn’t do much good, it’s because I lack compassion!
BS! There are REASONS for my positions, and it is the Democrats (and sometimes GWB) who attack folks hearts for disagreeing with their minds.
Perry is acting too much like GWB at his worst, and democrats at their best. I would like to vote for Perry, but the guy just keeps shoveling manure in my face...

I wouldn’t write his obit yet. As bad as that debate performance was, it wasn’t nearly as bad as GWB’s first debate against Kerry.
HOLY SHIT! So he even lied about that? IF true (and this is ABC, so we need to fact-check their fact-checks first) this is truly despicable. He ran VIDEOS of this poor young woman, and made it out like she inspired him to do the executive order. If that is a lie it is a BIG problem.

Once again Perry impressed me by standing strong. ABC is pushing it with this article. His use of “lobbied” here was not in the literally sense. If this is the best they could nitpick at........
There is only one candidate who polls sufficiently to even be in the debates...Palin.
I love Palin, but not as a candidate for president. Her leaving Al, after two years on the job will kill her along with the Cow providing fodder for the left to keep tossing out.
Christie, aside from his stance regarding public employee unions, I don’t know much about the guy...I don’t think he is as conservative as some would like...kind of Romney lite.

I am afraid we got what we got. Right now Perry keeps shooting himself in the foot...frankly his attacks on Romney tonight were not well thought out, timed, or perhaps even accurate.
If Backman is over playing her hand on this vacine again, she is done...she needs move on unless she is vying for a VP slot.

Near as I can tell it’s been out for 1/2hour now and no tweets from his campaign or supporters are denying it.
He has a pretty good contingent online....silence.
