Rick Perry's Solyndra: "Venture Socialism" - The Texas Way!
American Thinker ^ | Sept 22, 2011 | Brian T. Carter

Posted on 09/22/2011 10:20:57 AM PDT by RobaWho

"Venture Socialism" Perry Style! In Texas, bio-tech firm Convergen LifeSciences looks a lot like Governor Rick Perry's Solyndra. Governor Perry manages the Emerging Technology Fund (ETF), providing financial support to companies developing new technology in the hope of creating high-tech jobs. First created in 2005, ETF is made up of regional panels that screen proposals for a statewide advisory panel (all appointed by Perry). ETF dispersed $342 million through August 2010....Read more to understand the full stench of this Crony Capitalism love story.

Only if your a misfit or nitwit anti-Perry poster. Which you are.

Or if you're looking at Perry's record. Which you obviously aren't. :)

“your” should be correctly spelled “you’re” - thanks for playing.

I personally bask warmly and comfortably in the glow of my nit-wit status - along with other idiotic Palin supporters like Mark Levin & Rush Limbaugh.

You keep up those third grade invectives, OK?

Silly you.

This is an opinion hit piece on Perry. Bogus charges that amount to nothing. Perry's record has been vetted for years. Been reading about his Governorship for 11 years. Is he an ideal candidate, no. Who is? No one! Thus far, I've seen a lot of frivolous posts personally attacking Perry. Along with innuendo, rumor and gossip but nothing that would disqualify him from being the GOP nominee or potus.

If you have evidence of illegal activities that Perry has engaged in, I suggest you take them to the Texas Attorney Generals Office. Show them this article from the American Thinker while you're at it. You'll be shown the door quickly.

Is that the best you have? Sad and pathetic. Btw, I never mentioned Palin, who I happen to like too. No, this is all about YOU and a mindless article from one Brian T.Carter.

Here's what Mark Levin had to say about Rick Perry.

“Mark Levin is the most outspoken of the Right in insisting that we embrace all conservatism, not simply choose between candidates from various “wings” of the party.”

“Rick Perry is not only a total conservative - every movement is represented in him - but he has a 10 year record in Texas of implementing conservatism. And what are the results? Low unemployment, 47% of all new jobs in the last two years were created in Texas, serious tort reform, low taxes, and a general pro-business atmosphere. On top of accomplishments, Perry also had a basic intellectual message built solely on the 10th amendment. Unlike any of the other candidates, Perry has both a well defined ideology and vision and an actual record to back it up, AND practically he is a proven politician who can win and raise serious money. And he’s not afraid to fight. He won’t hedge here or there, won’t grant the left any ground on policy, and he certainly won’t run away from the greatness of our country.”

“When I look at Rick Perry, I see someone I don’t have to compromise to vote for. I don’t have to say, “eh, at least he’s for >insert generic conservative issue<, even though he’s against >insert generic conservative issue.”

I agree with Mark Levin, AKA. FReeper, holdonnow.

At least she’s honest

Definitely, which is why I believe her when she says that Rick Perry is a true conservative who is perfect to bring the conservative message and help fight Obama and the liberals.

I hear that a lot!!!
I love her ideals and how she cleaned up Alaska politics.
I think she knows a lot about oil and gas and how we can get off the Middle East oil. Would love to see her in charge of energy policy.
I just don’t think she is electable at this time.

Hope she runs for Kyl’s senate seat here in AZ and then runs after this new president has his or her 8 yrs.

This is business as usual everywhere. Not just in Texas, but everywhere that you have a good conservative legislature which knows that sometimes all it takes to spur job growth is to provide a little help and get out of the way.

Virginia has similar arrangements, and makes us very business-friendly. My county actually bought up some useless farmland, did the prep work, got it wired up, and now it’s a thriving high-tech employment center for us, and includes a major university campus.

In Texas, the fund is a joint venture of the executive and legislative branches. It lends out money and expects to get paid back. IT was funded one time, and lives off the payback from previous loans.

I guess we could question whether it is better to have the fund run by elected officials from the two branches of government, or by an independent commission. If it was independent, nobody could attack Perry for it.

But on the other hand, taxpayers would have no say over it, if it was run by some anonymous independent group. I prefer this — if anybody had real evidence of malfeasance, the voters could replace the people running the fund, simply by voting a different governor and legislator.

So it’s very accountable to the people. And it has spurred job creation, in many cases. With the economic downturn, the focus apparently has been on not losing the money, so it will be there for the next up-and-coming businesses.

have noticed that Perry's most vocal supporters are women who have said he is handsome, has great hair, etc.

I was wondering when the sexist comments would start. I guess it's now.

How many male supporters would Palin have if she looked and sounded like Janet Reno?

I resent being lumped into a group just because I want some one other than Obama or Romney in the WH.

Obamacare=Romneycare. Either one will ruin this coutry.
We need a candidate who will do away with Obamacare. Forget about anything else, folks that is our biggest problem.
Don’t care if it’s Perry or Cain or whoever. Just need someone who has the cojones to stand up to the dems and fight for this country!

You are exactly right. Attacks on Perry benefit no one but Romney. It reminds me of the actions of the Huckabee fans on FreeRepublic that helped McCain shut Romney out.

Now Romney is using the same people to benefit himself.

For years, since the last election, we were subjected to threads against Romney and Mormons. I’m betting that it is many of the same people who posted on those anti-Mormon/anti-Romney threads that are now helping Romney beat Perry.

Ah, finally.

I hate the tone of posts like this -- reminds me of something that would have popped up on one of those old tabloid news shows like "A Current Affair." So I was going to ask you who you supported so I could hold that as a strike against that candidate. So thanks for letting me know.

I still don’t know how McCain won the primary other than the MEDIA wanted him.

Beware of nice stories in the media about any R candidate.
That only means they want to pick us another loser.

I will never agree 100% with any of them. We must refuse the urge to be divided in our quest to rid the WH of the menace who resides there now.
We need a winner for a candidate and one who will fight for this country. Not another “statesman” who doesn’t want to get his record dirty by telling the truth about Obama.

We got drunk and voted for McCain-Palin. Then we went to Three Dollar Cafe and got drunker. I would like to vote sober this time around.

Romney is just not the guy to slam on the brakes. Newt might but everybody is just so annoyed with him he’s not going to win. Palins’ not going to run. Other than Perry who’s got a chance?

Perry says he will shutter the Dept of Energy and Educ in the first 100 days. He says he will undo all of Soetoro’s executive orders. I know he won’t grab my gun. I am not happy with his immigration stance but none of the other candidates are going to close the border either. Thats a dream. Unless somebody else jumps in its going to be Perry.

The vitriol and outright MSM-style spin and smear among some on here make me wonder if there aren't some sleeper Mitt-bots around. Perhaps they use these methods to surreptitiously achieve their agenda since Jim Robinson has made it clear that Romney supporters aren't welcome here.
