N.H. poll shocker: Perry falls, Romney surges as does Jon Huntsman

On that we agree. Romney has shown himself to be the wrong choice. His record as governor of Massachusetts disqualifies him in my opinion. And Palin would be a great candidate.

George Bush came in second to John McCain in 2000 by a margin of 30% to 48%. I'm fairly certain that he ran unopposed in 2004. Coming in second with 30% of the vote is very different from coming in fourth with less than 10% of the vote.

What I clearly said in my post is that if Rick Perry comes in fourth with less than 10% of vote and trailing candidates like Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul, he's going to look extremely weak. We have a chance to win New Hampshire in 2012, and if Rick Perry can't do better than 10% in the primary, he's not going to win swing states. If Rick Perry comes back and finishes second in New Hampshire with at least 20% of the vote, he won't be hurt at all. I stand by my previous statement that finishing fourth behind Ron Paul with single digit percentage of the vote, he's going to lose momentum going into South Carolina.
