That might be in there, too. Anything to avoid using the more expensive item, i.e., cream. But this is par for the course re communists becoming filthy rich by way of the capitalist system.

Health nannies long ago prevailed on the FDA to allow frozen dessert formulas that contain whole milk but no explicit cream to be called ice cream. Before that, the cartons would read “ice milk.” They weren’t bad as a kiddie dessert.
As a homemade formula for an electric cranked freezer, I have found ordinary canned evaporated milk to be a great basis for this new kind of ice cream. This sometimes contains carrageenan, which helps the texture, but not in the amounts found in a typical McDonald’s shake.
