That was no ordinary bling on the wrist of First Lady Michelle Obama at the DNC fundraiser in New York Tuesday night. Those fancy diamond cuffs were the creation of 23-year-old Katie Decker, whose namesake jewelry line has been making a serious splash since her graduation from Texas A&M two years ago.
The native Houstonian is over the moon with the fab pub that photos of the first lady in Katie Decker are already providing. Michelle Obama's stylist picked up the bracelets at Katie's showroom in Fragments in Soho. You can see more photos of the Obamas from the evening here by checking out the Gotham Hall event.
If you've been saving your nickels and dimes, the cuffs are available locally at Judith Ann Jewels. The First Lady wore Katie's Lotus cuff priced at $15,000 with 2.9 carats of diamonds, her Gothic cuff at $15,350 with 2.17 carats in diamonds and the Quatrefoil bracelet at $11,800 with 1.73 carats in diamonds.

The President and First Lady attended a DNC fundraiser at Gotham Hall in New York City last evening. On the fashion front, Mrs. O wore a black tuxedo-inspired cocktail dress to introduce her husband. Completing the look were three diamond bangle bracelets by jewelry designer Katie Decker.
Our First Lady has NO shame, does she.
Does anyone wonder whether she gives a thought AT ALL when she’s getting dressed to the actual plight of many of the people of this country and what’s going on currently?
She must truly be a miserable, vapid person on the inside.
Yep
Excellent images.
The last Emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie.
I think the cuffs are gorgeous. I am a jewelry person and of course have NOTHING near to expensive jewelry but do appreciate it.
I am wondering if she owns these or are just on loan with the idea the young artist gets more exposure.
Michelle looks half decent (as much as we can see) in this pix but my or my what an awkward kiss.
She always seems to pull of formal dress better than other occasions when she looks more like a clown than the wife of a head of state.
Thanks for thread & ping Miss Maggie! HI EVERYONE!
Obvious to me.
Trailer Trash with money - (yours and mine!)
Nah, they’re pretty fine. I would love to have one. As long as they keep living the high life, they alienate their base, the communists that is.
so is this personal property or does it get put in the presidential library?
I would say it is true however. Following the colonial era in Africa (which incidentally was Africa's most prosperous & peaceful golden era), we have somewhere between 60-80 yrs or so of black leaders ruling in extravagant luxury & opulence in Africa, while they allow the genocide & destruction of their own country & people. Personally I can't think of a single black leader who has not raped & pillaged & plundered his own country while committing or allowing for unbelieveable atrocities, genocide & deliberate starvation of his own country.
President Mugabe perhaps is the poster child for black rulers, skimming off the foreign aid to his country, while decimating, destroying & killing his own people and destroying Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia which was the bread basket of Africa under white rule.
Oh, oh ... here comes ATTACKWATCH!
;)
Ok, there's one. He also happened to be coptic Christian, I believe as well.
