From The Kinks “ David Watts “ ( 1967 ) ...

He is the head boy at the school
He is the captain of the team
He is so gay and fancy free
And I wish all his money belonged to me
I wish I could be like David Watts ...

Word origins. I have this book. Interesting, but from a liberal perspective.

“N*gger: The Strange Career of a Troublesome Word”

[Paperback]
Randall Kennedy
http://www.amazon.com/Nigger-Strange-Career-Troublesome-Word/dp/0375713719/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1316645680&sr=1-4

(yeah, I censored myself. Amazon has the uncensored title, surprisingly)

I had a reason to check for another book on that NY Times list. Savage named someone and it sounded like the person was a competing author

September 18, 2011

Fiction

September 25, 2011

Fiction

I checked both and I did not see Savage's book. I thought he said that he is/would be #4.

I relied on this source

{Savage was trashing the other author.. and making little jokes about her legs or something.)

While away, I heard Levin's announcer introduce a segment (paraphrasing) "Is that the Constitution in your pocket or are just happy to hear Mark Levin?" (and no giggling was heard)

“krugman’

One of the reviewers is a krugman leghumper. Pretty funny 1 star review.

Talking Buffet. How’s that “investment” in Bank of America working, Warren?

Follow up on the NY Times best sellers

I guess the list is two weeks behind. To wit, "A version of this list appears in the September 25, 2011 issue of The New York Times Book Review. Rankings reflect sales for the week ending September 10, 2011."

So Savage's book is set to appear as #4 on the Oct. 2nd list.
