Having watched the trial of the 4 officers accused of beating Rodney King, I was discussing the case with a friend who happened to be a retired captain with LAPD.

I thought the 4 cops were not guilty and the verdict in the criminal trial was correct. He disagreed and said he would have "burned them all including their watch commander".

Sometimes the cops themselves are hardest on colleagues who betray their trust.

Unless your police captain friend is testifying under oath against his colleagues who betrayed his trust, his strong words and a quarter will get you a gumball.

If more cops would step up and loudly condemn the thugs and criminals hiding in their midst, they'd have more credibility.
