NEW YORKThe Mideast Quartet on Tuesday continued its efforts to find a means to find a way to renew Israel-Palestinian peace talks and avoid unilateral moves ahead of a possible diplomatic showdown over the Palestinian statehood bid. A European diplomat told The Mideast Update by email on Tuesday morning that discussions are continuing, and another meeting for Quartet envoys had been set for Tuesday afternoon.

Palestinian-Israel Peace talks have been going on for years, and there is no sense in even continuing them as long as Palestine cannot be trusted to keep their part of the deal.
You are dealing with people who do not want peace with Israel, they want Israel gone.

Unquestionably. Right now the Israelis are, IMHO, treading water. What they want is a favorable US administration. Hussein Obama and his ilk are the most anti-Semitic regime in modern history. Ironically, with a President Palin or Perry, the "Palestinians" would be running scared.
FWIW, in Arabic, the word "Palestinians" is pronounced "Filistini" as in "Philistines."
