Another theory about Allah is that the God of Mohammed is really a kind of conflation of the many Gods of the Kabbah. They are reduced to “names”of the One God. This is different from the God of the Bible, which lays out a progressive revelation of God's nature, beginning with Abraham's understanding of God and ending with God as revealed in the person of Jesus. Some misguided Christians may think they can embrace the Muslim notion of an “Abrahamic” God, but the Muslims do not reciprocate. They do not accept the Mosaic law because the Law represents God as a benevolent ruler who punished only to teach.
