Northern NJ is a perfect case in point; unskilled Americans out of work while unskilled (often illegal) Hispanics doing all the work they used to do for a fraction of the price. Your post reminds me of a conversation I had here in central NJ with a man who is 100% native Hawiian and some one who does sub contracting on construction.

He has been given grief and lost jobs because the people he hired were not ethnically 'diverse' enough. Well, he couldn't find enough 'diverse' employees who spoke English, i.e. with whom he could communicate!
